Contracting Universe Theory

 
The pulsating or oscillating universe theory explains the universe collapses to a point known as a singularity then expands again recreating the universe.  The contracting universe theory explained in this article rejects the existence of singularities and allows for a continued cycle of contraction and expansion without a complete or near complete collapse. 
 
The degree of contraction within a universe depends on the strength or force of gravity.  The interaction between forces of gravity and dark energy determines the chances for contraction to occur.  Some speculate dark energy is the force created by interaction of opposite particles at the quantum level within the vacuum of space.  The expansion of space accelerates as the vacuum of space expands and the force of gravity weakens.  If the force of gravity increases, minor gravitational shifts or extended periods of contraction could occur.
 
Contracting universes lack the density of mass needed to cause a complete or near complete collapse.  These universes go through periods of contraction and expansion in regions of space where the density of galaxy superclusters are greater and account for stronger gravitational forces.  This would allow for expansion to continue in some regions of the universe while gravitational shifts or contractions occur in others.
 
Note:  Recent scientific evidence supporting a rapid expanding universe would indicate our universe does not have enough mass for this process to occur.  Scientific evidence of contraction or gravitational shifts occurring in our universe would not be released to the public without extensive collaborated verification.
 
Process of contraction begins when gravity overcomes the expansive force of dark energy.  A massive gravitational field is created from combined forces of gravity in a galaxy supercluster.  The gravitational field could only be created from both dark and normal matter.  This field has a gravitational lensing effect on dark energy or functions in the same way an electromagnetic field protects planetary bodies from solar radiation.
 
The gravitational field deflects or bends dark energy around the supercluster.  Supercluster formation is critical to develop and maintain the contraction process or to cause a gravitational shift.  The random change in positions of galaxies in the supercluster will eventually cause the gravitational field to fail unless adjoining galaxies or galaxy clusters are pulled into the original formation.  This is a slow developing process gaining momentum over time.  A short duration could have little effect on the surrounding region of space.
 
Science now states there could be a trillion galaxies in the universe.  Only a small fraction of these are observed and studied to formulate current theories.  There's a strong possibility our universe contains vastly more galaxies than can be observed.  Theories in cosmology continue to evolve and change over time.
